The Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basra organized a lecture on ethics and professional ethics for the educational specialization, which is part of the sixth unit of the teaching methods course.

The goal of the lecture is to define the concept of professional ethics and compare the concepts of ethics and professional ethics for the trainees.

The lecture, presented by Dr. Ahmed Qassem Khalaf Al-Shamkhawi, included an introduction to the concept of ethics, its sources, its importance, and whether ethics are innate or acquired. It also covered the stages of development of the concepts of ethics and professional ethics, a comparison between the two, the ethics of the teaching profession, the sources of the ethics of the teaching profession, the principles and foundations of teaching profession ethics, as well as professional discipline, its types, and objectives.
