Basra University organizes a workshop on lights on the Iraqi personality

The Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basra organized an online workshop on lights on the Iraqi personality

The aim of the workshop is to enhance the positive aspects of the Iraqi character as a living model

The workshop, which was presented by the teacher Haitham Mahdi Maatouq, included an introduction that explains in general the characteristics of the Iraqi personality within its eastern religious and tribal surroundings and comparing it with the Western personality. He cited Ali Al-Wardi’s dissolution of the Iraqi character as a dualistic character bearing contradictory values, which are the values of Bedouin and the values of civilization. The Iraqi soul is stronger, as it calls for lofty ideals or principles, is sincere in what he says, is serious about what he claims, but if he does the opposite after that, it is attributed to the appearance of another soul in him that does not know what the first soul said and what it did.

In the end, the recommendation was to submit a working paper to the President of the University entitled Our Beautiful Morals
