"University news translation takes place as part of workshops, seminars, conferences, and panel discussions in various fields of society to develop the workforce on one hand and to raise awareness and guide different segments of society and students on the other hand in various areas. We now have a national awareness project that we will be launching soon. A committee has been formed and the necessary approvals have been obtained to guide students in schools and universities to reduce the spread of drugs and to educate the younger generation about the risks and consequences of this issue."

The Research Services Unit encourages researchers to write their research according to the publication standards in global repositories such as Scopus and Clarivate to contribute to raising the University of Basra's ranking in local, Arab, and global classifications towards scientific dissemination in accordance with international scientific standards.

The unit communicates with reputable scientific journals in global repositories to understand publication requirements and engage in scientific collaboration with them.

The unit provides guidance and assistance to the teaching staff and postgraduate students in selecting reputable journals in collaboration with the Graduate Studies College and the University Promotions Committee.

It establishes a database for journals in which publications have been made or promoted.

It monitors journals entering or leaving the classification in global repositories."
