The Research Services Unit at The Continuing Education and Development Center at the University of Basra organized a workshop about “ the instructions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the requirements of the University of Basra on the conditions and mechanisms of accurate scientific publishing in International journals.

The objectives of the workshop, are to acquaint postgraduates with the most important instructions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the most important requirements of the University of Basra and to know the mechanism of accurate scientific publishing.

The workshop which was presented by the Dr. Ammar Badran Ramadan, Associate Dean of the College of Graduate Studies, included reference to the most important official books issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research regarding the requirements for scientific publishing and how to avoid falling into the trap of predatory and hijacked magazines and knowledge of the most important sites that deal with the rigor publishing houses.

At the end of the workshop, the presenter was the recommendation was to hold specialized workshops in the process of accurate scientific publishing and work to guide graduate students to be careful in the process of searching for journals and accurate publishing houses so that there would be no waste in the student’s effort and thus be a great loss for the efforts of the University of Basra in increasing its scientific balance of scientific research.
