The Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basra runs a symposium on the art of writing formal letters

 The purpose of the seminar, , is to familiarize the employee with the methods and methods required to write the official letter in order to be  appropriate to the reputation of the institution and to avoid errors and inappropriate words. And to provide the employee with experience in the field of writing official letters and introducing him to the importance of maintaining the appropriate form of the book in linguistic terms and aesthetics. The seminar is assumed as a part of the official correspondence course.

The workshop is presented by the lecturer,  Jassim, A.N. It included

Defining formal letters from an administrative and technical point of view. It also viewed

 the requirements for writing a formal letter and to consider the way of  writing an official letter.
