The University of Basra is organizing a workshop on the martyrdom of Amir al-Mu'minin Ali ibn Abi Talib, peace be upon him, its meanings and implications

The Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basra is organizing an online workshop on the martyrdom of Amir al-Mu'minin Ali ibn Abi Talib, peace be upon him, its meanings, and implications. The aim of the workshop is to revisit the biography of Amir al-Mu'minin objectively and rationally, from his birth, to highlight his role in supporting Islam and his Prophet, and to understand the reasons that led to his martyrdom.

 

The workshop, presented by Dr. Jawad Kazem Al-Nasrallah, included a discussion on the virtues of Imam Ali, peace be upon him, and an explanation of the reasons that caused people to be divided between those who loved and those who hated him. It also included a re-reading of the story of the Imam's martyrdom on the night of the 19th of Ramadan, in a manner befitting his position as Amir al-Mu'minin, and a review of the conspiracy that led to his death.

 

The recommendation at the end of the workshop was to urge researchers and graduate students in various scientific and human specialties to revisit the biography of Imam Ali objectively and rationally, in line with global scientific developments in all fields.
