
The Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basra held an online lecture on negotiation and the art of dealing with others. The aim of the lecture, which is part of the Central Administration Skills and Responsibilities course, is to introduce participants to the process of negotiation theoretically and to enable them to practice negotiation in a practical way. Participants will learn about the concept and importance of negotiation, methods of conflict resolution, the five most famous negotiation strategies, negotiation techniques and tactics, and the five stages of negotiation application. The lecture, presented by Dr. Jawad Ajabari Abdul, included the concept and characteristics of negotiation elements and conditions, successful negotiators, negotiation preparation steps, negotiation strategies and climate, bargaining management, and practical case studies. The lecture concluded with a recommendation to create a good formal or informal atmosphere and to give the other party the impression that you are keen on mutual interests, to communicate politely while actively listening to the other party, to avoid rushing to respond to the other negotiator's opinions, and to not delve into subsidiary details as much as possible
