The Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basra organized a workshop on the pros and cons of using laser devices. The aim of the workshop is to give a general idea about the concept of laser devices and their various uses, with their advantages and disadvantages.

The workshop, presented by Dr. Furat Ahmad Mahdi, included a general idea about the structure and operation of lasers, the electromagnetic spectrum used by laser devices, and their uses in industry, measurement, environment, space, and medicine, with their pros and cons. The workshop also included a general idea about the interaction of light with tissues and their effects.

In conclusion, the recommendation was to ensure that laser devices are used by trained individuals to avoid the negatives that may accompany the use of these devices
