
The Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basra organized a course on "Negotiation: The Art of Dealing with Others."
The aim of the course was to introduce students to the process of negotiation theoretically and equip them with practical negotiation skills. Participants were familiarized with the concept of negotiation, its significance, conflict resolution methods, the five most famous negotiation strategies, negotiation techniques and tactics, and the application of the five stages of the negotiation process.
The course, presented by Dr. Jawad Ajbary Abdul, covered the concept of negotiation, traits of successful negotiators, negotiation elements and conditions, negotiation preparation steps, negotiation strategies, negotiation climate, managing bargaining, practical cases, and applications.
In conclusion, it was recommended to create a friendly and professional atmosphere as much as possible, give the other party the impression of caring about mutual interests, exhibit good communication etiquette, actively listen to the other party, avoid rushing into responding to the other negotiator's opinions, and refrain from delving into unnecessary details
