The University of Basra organizes a lecture on an Introduction to Learning and Teaching for the Engineering Specialization

The Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basra, in collaboration with the Department of Information and Knowledge Technologies at the College of Arts, conducted a lecture on the introduction to learning and teaching for the engineering specialization.

 

The lecture, presented by lecturer Ahmed Hatif Obeid at the College of Engineering, University of Maysan, included a session to introduce the training program of the training unit. The second session included a lecture aimed at defining the concept of learning, teaching, and analysis of how the three concepts are interconnected and their impact on each other. It also evaluated how the educational process achieves its goals, identified areas that can be improved, and addressed the concepts of ABET and the standards to be achieved in engineering and information technology programs.

 

The third session aimed to identify ABET concepts and standards that must be achieved in engineering and information technology programs. It assessed how the educational process achieves its goals and identified areas that can be improved. In conclusion, the recommendation emphasized the necessity of applying ABET programmatic accreditation standards in engineering curricula to align with the requirements of the job market. It also stressed the importance of having full knowledge of learning, teaching, and instructional theories, and using modern methods in preparing lectures and teaching methods
