The Continuing Education and Development Centre at the University of Basrah organized a training course about" The Basics of Electronic Archiving and its Importance in Document Preservation".

The objective of the lecture is to acquaint the trainees with the role of electronic archiving in preserving and organizing documents, as well as how to easily retrieve them.

The course, which was presented by instructor Ahmed Nasser Ismail, included the meaning of archives, the concept of archiving, manual archiving, the definition of documents and their types, electronic archiving and its importance, systems, benefits, and challenges, as well as the steps and tools of electronic archiving.

At the end of the course, the presenter recommended the necessity and importance of focusing on and promoting the use of electronic archiving in preserving administrative and official documents
