University of Basrah Holds a Lecture on the Fundamentals of Measurement and Evaluation for the Third Unit of the Humanities Specialization

The Center for Continuing Education at the University of Basrah organized a lecture on the fundamentals of measurement and evaluation for the humanities specialization, as part of the fifth Teaching Methods course.

 

The lecture, which is a component of the updated curriculum of the Teaching Methods course for the southern region within the humanities specialization, aimed to provide newly appointed faculty members holding postgraduate degrees (Master’s – PhD) with the essential skills required to design measurement tools and apply appropriate correction mechanisms.

 

Delivered by faculty member Tharaa Abdul-Rasool Hassan, the lecture included an explanation of the concepts of measurement, assessment, and evaluation, their types, and how to apply them in the teaching process. It also addressed differentiating between types of scales in terms of use, distinguishing among types of evaluation, designing effective tests, and formulating both objective and essay-type questions.
