The Center for Continuing Education at the University of Basrah, in cooperation with the College of Education for Women, organized an online workshop titled “History as a Tool for Guidance: Inspiring Events and Figures.” The workshop explored the educational and psychological role of history in shaping character and fostering human values.

The workshop aimed to utilize historical figures and events to support counseling and educational practices, while enhancing students’ skills in reflection and critical thinking.

Presented by Dr. Rafif Abdulhafidh Al-Riyahi and Dr. Hassan Sahib Al-Rikabi, the workshop showcased inspiring historical examples such as Imam Ali and Imam Al-Hussain (peace be upon them), Mother Teresa, and Avicenna, highlighting them as symbols of wisdom, patience, and humanitarian guidance.
