The Continuing Education Center at the University of Basra held an awareness seminar entitled "Human Trafficking and its Effects on Society," with the participation of the center's director and a number of academics and specialists in security and social fields.

The seminar aimed to raise public awareness of the dangers of human trafficking.

The seminar included lectures presented by Lieutenant Colonel Muntadhar Kadhim Ni'ma from the Community Police, Dr. Abdul Karim Zayer Rasen, and Dr. Hiba Majeed Issa. They addressed the legal, humanitarian, and ethical dimensions of the issue, emphasizing the importance of integrating institutional and community efforts to combat this phenomenon.

The lectures stressed the importance of reducing the exploitation of individuals by clarifying the forms this crime takes, the reasons for its spread, and ways to reduce it.
