With the attendance of the President of the University of Basrah, Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kazem Al-Asadi, the Center for Development and Continuing Education held its annual evaluation conference for the academic year 2024–2025 under the theme “Together Toward Development that Elevates the University and Society.” The event was also attended by the Assistant for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Haider Khazal, along with a group of faculty members and university staff.

The conference reviewed the Center’s active role in advancing academic and institutional leadership through a comprehensive assessment of its scientific, administrative, financial, media, training, and developmental achievements. It also highlighted community service initiatives and academic contributions, while discussing future plans aimed at enhancing performance and meeting quality assurance and academic accreditation requirements.

In his remarks, the University President emphasized the importance of leveraging strengths and addressing challenges through innovative and sustainable solutions. He commended the Center’s pivotal contribution to professional development and its efforts in meeting the training needs of academic and administrative staff, in alignment with the goals of sustainable development.

The conference concluded with a set of recommendations supporting the establishment of a platform for managing scientific research resources to enhance faculty research, in addition to organizing training programs that keep pace with global advancements, labor market demands, and scientific research priorities—ultimately strengthening the university’s capacity to serve the community and advance human resource development.
