The Continuing Education and Development Center at the University of Basrah, in cooperation with the College of Education for Women, held an academic festival entitled “The Holy Qur’an: The Identity of Language and the Constitution of Life”, in celebration of the National Day of the Holy Qur’an, with the participation of female students.
The festival aimed to highlight the pivotal role of the Holy Qur’an in consolidating Islamic identity in general and Arabic identity in particular, as it represents the guarantor of the continuity of the language and the organizer of the aspects of human life.
The event included a lecture delivered by lecturer Wasan Yaqoub Abdul Jabbar Al-Tamimi, which addressed the relationship between language and the Holy Qur’an, the connection of the sciences of grammar, morphology, and rhetoric to its miraculous structure, and the characteristics of Qur’anic language in legislation and the regulation of life affairs.
The Director of the Center, Dr. Mustafa Abdul Redha Kazem, emphasized the importance of holding such events due to their role in enhancing cultural and linguistic awareness.
The festival recommended intensifying similar activities.
