The Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basrah, in cooperation with the College of Education for Women, held an online workshop entitled "From Councils of Wise Men to Guidance Offices: A Journey Through History Towards Humanity."

The workshop aimed to explore the roots of understanding humanity in ancient societies, highlight the role of wise men and philosophers in interpreting human behavior, and trace the evolution of this understanding from philosophy to psychology. It also emphasized the role of psychological and educational guidance in the modern era.

The workshop included lectures presented by Dr. Rafif Abdul-Hafiz Al-Riyahi and Dr. Najwan Hassan Saba, which addressed ancient councils of wise men, the development of psychology, and the importance of guidance offices as a continuation of the intellectual legacy of these councils
