The Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basrah, in collaboration with the College of Education for Women, organized an online workshop titled “Historical Awareness as an Approach to Psychological Counseling and Human Behavior Guidance.”

The workshop aimed to introduce the concept of historical awareness, demonstrate its relationship with psychological counseling, and explain the connection between historical events and patterns of human behavior.

The workshop, presented by Dr. Rafeef Abdulhafidh Al-Riyahi and instructor Hanan Hashim Abdulali, covered topics including therapy through historical narratives, models of psychological resilience, linking history with identity and behavior, as well as employing historical stories to modify behavior and analyze life situations from a critical perspective that enhances psychological and social identity.
