The continuing Education and Development Center at the University of Basra

organized an online workshop on verbal and non-verbal communication between the lecturer  and the student

The aims of the workshop, which is part of a developmental training course for teaching staff,

areto focus on the importance of human  interaction between the student and the lecturer for the success of the information transfer process.

The workshop, which was presented by Dr. Rifat Abdullah Jassim included an explanation of the types, images, obstacles to the communication, methods of overcoming obstacles, and competencies that must be provided by the lecturer to succeed in the teaching profession

The workshop called for preparing the lecturer on the psychological, personal, social, and ethical levels because teaching is considered one of the professions that require a set of moral and personal competencies and where obtaining the highest scientific ranks and academic degrees is not sufficient in itself or qualified for the practice  in the teaching process
