Basra University organizes a workshop on toxins in food.

The Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basra sets an online seminar  on food toxins

The aim of the workshop is to introduce and raise awareness of food poisoning and food toxins and how to prevent them.

The forum presented by Dr. Wisal Odeh Hassan, included the definition of food poisoning, its symptoms and its types represented by various causes such as microbial, fungal and algal toxins, in addition to poisoning with pesticides and heavy metals. It also included natural toxins found in plants and various foods, as well as food additives such as hormones, antibiotics and preservatives. The sumposim dealt with ways to prevent pathogens and toxins in food, in addition to emergency treatment and treatment for different cases.

In the end, the recommendatio was to follow hygiene and sterilization instructions, wash fruits and vegetables, clean food preparation utensils, cook good food, and reduce the consumption of canned and fast food.
