The Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basra organized a workshop on leadership, motivation and motivational theories

The aim of the symposium is to learn how to lead employees and motivate them to provide the best performance and to identify the most important theories of motivation and how they are used by leaders.

The workshop presented by Lecturer, Ismail, I.F. It included the following items:

defining leadership and its role, presenting the difference between management , leadership and their importance in the organization and motivational theories (Maslow's theory, David McClelland, and Frederick Herzberg)

What is motivation and why is it important?

Finally, the recommendation was to pay attention to employees and to correct methods of motivation, guidance and arousal to provide the best performance. Employing theories should be assumed to cope with the work environment.
