
The Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basra is conducting this course as part of the government program "Development and Capacity Building of University Leadership and Human Resources."
The objective of the course is to train participants on all aspects of the Unified Accounting System, which is implemented in all public and mixed-sector institutions in the Republic of Iraq.
The course, delivered by lecturer Maher Ismail Badran, covered the following topics:
- Presentation and explanation of financial accounting and accounting procedures during the fiscal year.
- Presentation and explanation of the accounting assumptions and principles on which the design and preparation of the Unified Accounting System are based.
- Definition of the Unified Accounting System, its components, and the advantages achieved by its implementation by accountants.
- Presentation and explanation of the scope of application of the Unified Accounting System and the institutions exempted from its implementation.
- Presentation and explanation of the accounting manual, including the tabulation and decimal numbering of accounts.
- Presentation and explanation of the general accounts and sub-accounts of the system and practical application methods.
In conclusion, it was recommended to continue developing the capacities and skills of university leaders and functional staff through continuous education courses and workshops. This is necessary to enhance performance and keep up with all administrative, financial, legal, and technological developments in the field of work
