The Continuing Education Center at the University of Basra organized a development course on Microsoft Word, with the participation of several researchers. The course aims to familiarize participants with the process of writing using the Word program, formatting, inserting images, texts, shapes, and tables, as well as working with files, merging, correspondence, and utilizing macros. Additionally, it covers how to create headers and footers within the program.

The course, presented by researcher Mustafa Essam Ahmed, involved training participants on Word's operation methods and features, including the main window elements, Word ribbons, such as the title, tasks, tools, menus, information, and inserting a table, image, clipart, and setting a password for the program.

The course resulted in recommendations that participants should undergo an intensive course covering all Microsoft Office applications for the purpose of development and the ability to work with them in line with advancements in capabilities and skills
