Basra University Presents a Lecture on Teaching Ethics for the Sixth Unit of the Updated Curriculum Teaching Methods Course

The Center for Development and Continuing Education at Basra University delivered a lecture on teaching ethics as part of the updated curriculum teaching methods course for the southern region, covering all specialties.

 

The aim of the lecture, which is part of the updated curriculum teaching methods course for the southern region across all disciplines, is to develop the skills, knowledge, and attitudes of university professors regarding teaching ethics in Iraqi universities.

 

The lecture, delivered by Professor Dr. Munaf Abdul-Kadhim Mohammed, a faculty member at the Administrative Technical College of the Southern Technical University, included an introduction to the concepts of ethics and morality, the difference between them, types of ethical schools, the source of ethics, the concept of teaching ethics, principles and ethics of the teaching profession, fields and rules of the teaching profession, rights and responsibilities, the teaching profession's code of ethics, exercises, activities, video recordings, and discussions on how to take a stance through discussions between the lecturer and trainees.

 

In conclusion, the recommendation emphasized the importance of focusing on teaching ethics through theoretical lessons and applications in the university environment, and adhering to the approved and agreed-upon codes of professional ethics within academic institutions
