The University of Basrah Presents a Lecture on Education Quality for the Seventh Unit of the Updated Curriculum Teaching Methods Course for the Southern Region in the Humanities and Administrative Specializations

The Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basrah presented a lecture on education quality for the seventh unit of the updated curriculum teaching methods course for the southern region in the humanities and administrative specializations.

The lecture aimed to introduce trainees to general concepts of quality, quality management, and other related terms associated with student satisfaction. It also aimed to:

- Introduce quality tools (checklists, Pareto charts, cause and effect diagrams, etc.)

- Develop trainees' skills in improving their teaching performance using SWOT analysis

- Enable trainees to work according to quality management methodologies (PDCA cycle) in all their teaching and educational activities

- Develop trainees' skills in designing quantitative and qualitative checklists for all units of the teaching methods curriculum for self-evaluation of the educational institution's application of standards

 

The lecture, presented by Marwa Mousa Atwan Al-Matouq from the Southern Technical University, covered the following topics:

- The concept of quality (linguistically, terminologically, and the ISO standard concept)

- The concept of quality in education and mechanisms to achieve quality in education

- The dimensions of educational quality and quality standards in education

- Reasons and justifications for focusing on education quality

- The expected results from ensuring the application of quality in education

- Quality tools (fishbone diagram)

In conclusion, the recommendation emphasized the need to provide educational services according to international quality standards to elevate the level of education quality in Iraqi institutions.
