The continuing Education and Development Center at the University of Basra organized an online workshop about“ Strategic Planning” within the Rigor project. 
The objectives of the workshop, which is part of high leadership skills are for the strategic direction, and to provide the trainee with knowledge and skills on how to carry out the strategic planning process.

The strategic workshop, which was presented by Prof. Dr. Abdel Reda Farag Badrawi, included the stages of development of strategic thought, represented by budgets, long-term planning, strategic planning, and strategic management, and focused on the strategic planning model with its four selected stages, represented by environmental analysis and strategy formulation, a statement of the vision and mission of the university or college, and the distinction between the objectives, purposes, and requirements of the policies, then the strategy implementation phase, and finally evaluation and control.                                   At the end of the course, the presenter recommended  to adopt codified criteria in  choosing the university administration leaders and to subject candidates to tests for developmental courses in management.
