The Continuing Education and Development Center at at the University of Basra organized an online workshop on the ethics of the teaching profession.

 The objective of the workshop, which is part of the Teaching Methods course for faculty members, is to enable the new and continuing teachers to adhere to the ethics of the necessary university teaching profession, and to perform it in a way that pleases God and conscience, based on what is dictated to us by the divine law, and the instructions of the relevant educational institutions.

 The workshop, which was presented by Dr. Zaynab Falih Salim Al-Shawi, presented a number of characteristics of the university teaching, or the teacher in general, from what was deduced from the literature of education, science and psychology, and related ethical books.  Then touched upon the most important ethics of university teaching through teaching it in the classroom and dealing with students, or with colleagues and the administration.

 In the end, the recommendation was to adhere to the ethics of the profession in general, especially the ethics of the teaching profession presented in the workshop with regard to teaching matters
