The Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basra organized an online workshop entitled “Soil is a natural resource that must be preserved.” On the occasion of World Soil Day

The objective of the workshop is to show the importance of soil, the stages of its formation, the problems to which it is exposed, and the reasons for its deterioration.

The workshop presented by Dr. Salah Mahdi Sultan included the definition of soil, its components, factors, processes responsible for its formation, experience and its types, causes of soil deterioration, and general questions about soil issued by the International Agriculture and Food Organization.

In the end, the recommendation was the necessity of preserving the soil; Because it is a natural wealth that cannot be compensated, by minimizing the causes of its deterioration.
