The Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basra organized an online workshop on gender and why we should reject it.

The aim of the workshop was to provide participants with a proper understanding of gender and to warn against its unsuitability for our society.

The workshop, presented by researcher Rashid Hameed Al-Sarai, covered the emergence and definition of the gender term, its scientific evaluation, and discussions on its acceptance. It also addressed objections and criticisms of gender, as well as examining the consequences of promoting gender in Western societies and its implementation in Iraqi society.

In conclusion, the recommendation was made to limit gender discussions to academic circles, to cease supporting and promoting it in Iraqi society, and to close gender-related departments and sections in ministries and government institutions
