The University of Basra organizes a course on Accounting and Auditing

The Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basra has organized a course on Accounting and Auditing. The aim of the course is to enhance the skills of professionals working in the field of accounting and auditing within various government departments and sectors. Participants are provided with up-to-date knowledge and modern accounting and auditing methods based on academic sources.

 

The course, presented by instructors Mohammad Faraj Hanoun and Maher Ismaeil Badran, covered topics related to accounting. It explained the objectives of accounting, various accounting methods and procedures in financial and government accounting, and how to accurately convey accounting information to relevant and authorized entities.

 

Regarding auditing, the participants were introduced to the concept and definition of auditing, traditional and modern auditing objectives, types of auditing in various fields, globally agreed-upon auditing standards, and the identification of errors and fraud according to international auditing standards.

 

In conclusion, it was recommended to continuously enhance the capabilities of government employees by encouraging their participation in courses, workshops, and conferences. This is essential for expanding their knowledge of global developments in the fields of accounting and auditing, as well as acquiring the necessary skills to keep pace with ongoing advancements
