The University of Basra hosts a course on Human Resource Management

The Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basra organized a course on Human Resource Management. The objective of this course is to acquaint participants with the significance of human resource management, as human resources are among the most critical assets that contribute to the success of an organization and enhance its performance.

The course, delivered by instructor Mohammed Hashem Al-Shar', covered the concept of human resource management, its importance, and its goals. It discussed functions, administration, and human resource management as an open system, along with the relationship between human resource management and other departments. The course also delved into centralized and decentralized human resource management, the required skills, the concept of performance evaluation, its importance, goals, methods, performance evaluation issues, evaluating bodies, and the current challenges facing human resource management. It emphasized the key characteristics necessary for effective organizations and addressed talent management as part of human resource management.
