The University of Basrah organizes a course about" developing the skills of technicians

The Continuing Education and Development Centre at the University of Basrah organized a course about" developing the skills of technicians."

 

The objective of the course is to acquaint the trainee with the concept of arts, and their types, and to acquaint the functions of art and the extent of its influence on the individual and society, distinguishing between the positive roles and the negatives in art.

 

The course, which was presented by the instructor Hadeel Iyad Maki, involved an introduction to arts, their history, and the three main types of arts: applied arts such as drawing, ceramics, films, photography, and sculpture; secondly, literary arts such as poetry, prose, drama, fiction, and performing arts such as theatre, dance, and music, as well as other arts such as cooking, video production, design, and decoration, and the role of arts in education and the difference between it and learning through arts.

 

The impact of art on the individual, society, and the human psyche, as well as the impact of artists on the individual and society, was discussed, along with the positives and negatives of art on individuals and society, and the concept and types of Islamic art, as well as the impact of Islamic art on Western arts.

 

At the end of the course, the presenter recommended emphasising the necessity to continue working in their artistic specialization despite holding an administrative position that does not align with their specific expertise.
