‏The Continuing e  Development

‏ Center at the University of Basrah organized a course about financial management and financial analysis.

‏ The object of the course was to understand the concept of financial management and its significance, as well as its position within the organizational structure of a company. Additionally, it acquaint participants to financial analysis and its concept.

 ‏The course, which was presented by lecturer Vihaa Abdul Khaliq Mahmoud, involved the concept of financial management and its importance, the role of financial management in small, medium, and large companies, the relationship between financial management and accounting, the differences between financial manager and financial controller, understanding financial analysis and its importance and objectives, and familiarity with financial ratios of all types. It also covered horizontal and vertical analysis, cash flow statements, and methods of preparing these statements using both direct and indirect methods.

 ‏At the end of the course, the presenter recommend to extend the duration of the course to provide more detailed information about financial management and financial analysis, emphasizing their importance as they illustrate the movement of cash in and out, which is fundamental to the success or failure of companies.
