The Continuing Education and Development Center at the University of Basra organized an online course in English, Headway

The aim of the course, presented by the lecturer, Samer Abdul-Kareem Naser, is to

 give a comprehensive but cursory introduction to the basics of the English language.

 The course included the basics of English grammar, in terms of the nature of grammatical structures, vocabulary, correct pronunciation, and the basics of conversation along with practicing linguistic interaction and other activities, taking into account the four language skills: writing, reading, listening, and listening.

 In the end, the course recommended commitment to other language courses held by the center after the placement level test at the end of the course, the course also can be considered as a starting point to learning English at higher levels by the means communicative methods to achieve real advancement in learning and practice
