The University of Basra organizes a seminar about (Graduate Studies in Iraq: Between Reality and Expectations)

The continuing Education and Development Center at the University of Basra organized an

expanded seminar on (Graduate Studies in Iraq: Between Reality and Expectations)

The aims of the seminar are to draw lessons and lessons from reality, and to think about the necessary measures

The symposium reviewed several axes, including The topic of acceptance was reviewed by Professor Dr. Faisal Abdul Munshid, the topic of choice of topics presented  by Dr. Rifat Jassim Abdullah, the axis of was presented by Dr. Dergham Sami Abdul Amir, and the axis of discussions presented by Dr. Saad Ali Zayer.  The course was monitored by Dr. Nidaa Al-Yasiri, Director

The emphasis has been placed on the philosophy of  approval, and it must be based on the principle of selection, because postgraduate programs need distinct mental capabilities, cognitive, and research skills that are not available in everyone, and this requires setting standards capable of achieving the goal, especially since all other axes are related to this axis.

                                                                                                               

 At the end of the symposium,  several recommendations were presented:

Stopping the expansion of approval at the  expense of type or gender, and linking the admission plan to  the plans of scientific departments, , as acceptance is linked to the labor market.

Also not to approve of  online degrees that are through correspondence, and consider them as a dangerous step to weaken education, reduce the value of graduate studies, emphasize international standards, scientific rigor, and conduct a comprehensive evaluation of specialists for graduate programs, starting from admission and ending with discussions, and that scientific committee make  greater efforts in discussing the titles presented by graduate students and their supervisors;  For more scientific rigor of topics and title
