The Continuing Education and Development
Center at the University of Basra organized an online workshop on educational curricula, its foundations and theories of its construction and development, as part of a development and Rehabilitation project.
The aim of the workshop, which is part of a development training course for faculty members, is to introduce the importance of the curriculum, the foundations of its construction, and theories of its development.
The workshop, presented by Dr. Faisal Abdul Munshid, included a detailed explanation of the modern (wide) concept of the curriculum, educational implications, curriculum making theories, the foundations of the school curriculum, curriculum building elements, and curriculum development methods (development by deletion, addition, replacement, and development by taking modern designs for the curriculum).
In the end, the recommendation was to prepare the curriculum in a way that keeps pace with modernity, and to focus in building the curriculum on the scientific, emotional and social aspects of preparing a good citizen
